Every month I’m going to post a blog about the outfits I’ve found that minimise my insecurities, making me feel confident. As I’ve been in Lanzarote, this months are all holiday outfits!
This dress is from In The Style. It’s crisp white which is lovely for summer and fans out over my hips, hiding my bum and thighs. I’m usually a size 12 but got a size 10 in this because it was quite loose on top around my waist. This dress is quite short at the front: I’m 5’8 and I recon its just about okay. This is worth baring in mind if you’re taller!
This number is from Dancing Leopard found on SilkFred. With some alterations, I’ve made it work for me. Originally, it’s very low cut and tricky to wear a bra with. I fixed this by tying the straps at the back together at the top. The problem then was that the slit was too high, so I sewed that to an appropriate height. They no longer appear to have the navy but have white, black and patterned.
This ASOS swimming costume is my favourite buy of the summer I think. Not only does it have a beautiful pattern, but the actual structure and fit of it is perfect. This is the first swimming costume I’ve ever worn as I was always sceptical about what it would make my bum look like. Plus the high rise fashion had my worried about my thighs. But I would actually say they looked better in this than in a bikini because the swimsuit hides my love handles. It also has really well structured padding around the bust, with a zip so it gives you a nice boost of cleavage. This combination gave me more of an hour glass figure. I was oozing with confidence around the pool!
I’ve had this dress for about 5 years and I still wear it all the time. This is from Forever21. It’s more of a blouse dress rather than the ever-so-popular shirt dress. I prefer this because it doesn’t cling whilst still showing off your shape in an elegant way. I like to dress this up with heels for a summer night out or down with sandals for BBQ’s or a shopping trip. I can’t find this exact dress because I bought it so long ago but I’ve found one similar and posted the link below.
